'Waiting Room' is a collection featuring paintings by Mikol Brinkman and ceramics by Emily Fick.
Mikol's paintings feature self-taught transfer processes on paper, suede, and canvas, touching on Americana imagery and the atmospheric hauntology of his upbringing in rural Northern California. The works in the show reinterpret found imagery collected from printed matter and ephemera that connects to his interest in iconography and motifs of American culture.
Emily's ceramic works utilize traditional throwing and hand-building techniques with contemporary xerox transfer image reliefs that compliment the paintings.
